Best of Breed (Entry 115 dogs)

Open 1. [97] Windycity Harpalus – Winners Dog – BEST OF BREED It turned out that two years ago my Best of Breed was the grandmother of this dog and like with her I got that special feeling when he entered the ring. For me she stole the show then and her grandson did the same on this show. Breed type written all over him. A powerful and deep through head, neat rose ears, well placed and dark eyes. Wonderful outline. Muscular neck of good length. Well boned front with correct width. Strong pasterns, tight feet. Correct spring of rib and correct depth of brisket. Short in loins. Well angulated front construction. Muscled and well angulated hindquarters. For me this dog ticks all the boxes! Powerful movement. I learned that he gained his champion title this weekend, so very well deserved.

Best of Breed (Entry 83 dogs)

As soon as this striking pied walked into the ring he demanded my attention. His overall balance is an ideal blend of bull and terrier. Strength and agility coexist remarkably well in this dog. His powerful, masculine head is of ideal muzzle to skull proportions with a deep skull, distinct stop, and a classic furrow down the center of the skull formed by the well-developed temporal muscles on either side. His lip is tight and clean, underjaw is strong, and his muzzle is ideal in housing the well placed teeth. The strong masseter muscles are present creating “cheek bumps” and his “Stafford Smile”. Dark eye and thin rose ear help round out the keen expression. Neck is strong and rather short, flowing seamlessly into the well laid back shoulder with excellent angle and length of upper arm. His bone is ideal for his flesh. Front is straight with very strong pasterns and tidy feet. Deep brisket with wellsprung ribs and a sternum of proper length. His back is short with a level topline. He is very closecoupled but still athletic and agile, well-conditioned and hard to the touch with a defined waistline and tuck under the loin. Well bent stifle with strongly muscled rear. Excellent tail set and carriage. Moved with great purpose, covering the ground with economy of effort while holding his topline as level as if he were standing, and with his tail in perfect position. Shown in fit condition, and handled extremely well to show off his every virtue. An easy stand out in his class. He was only pushed hard when it came down to very top honors, but today I was proud to award this outstanding Stafford Winners Dog, Best Of Winners, and Best Of Breed (New Champion)

Best of Breed. Wow, wow, wow. I just loved him!! What a special boy with breed type and quality in abundance. Beautiful head and expression, deep through skull with plenty of width. Strong clean muzzle with no lippyness. The darkest of eyes who follow your every move. Neatest of ears framing the expression well. Teeth OK, What a fabulous body shape, I look for that wedge shaped body from the side which shows off his level topline! Powerful well muscled rear quarters well let down at the hock, I would say that this dog is not quite finished maturing and the best of him is yet to come. He is a real showman and moved and handled really well. Top notch dog!!!!
